Activity Timeline

See who on your team has reviewed the brief, who has concerns, and how alignment is tracking.

Overview

The Activity tab inside a brief shows your team's alignment activity in one place. Team members can vote on whether a brief is ready to proceed, and those votes — along with any comments they leave — appear in the Activity tab as a live feed. You get an at-a-glance summary of who is aligned and who has raised concerns, so you can act on blockers before they slow the work down.

The Activity tab updates in real time. New votes and comments appear as soon as they're submitted without needing a page refresh.

How It Works

  1. Open the Activity tab — Inside any brief, click the Activity tab in the document panel.

  2. See the team overview — At the top of the tab, a circular progress indicator shows the proportion of votes that are aligned versus concerns. The indicator is green when everyone who has voted is aligned, yellow when there are outstanding concerns.

  3. Review aligned members — The "Aligned" section lists each team member who has voted that the brief is ready to proceed, with their name, avatar, the time of their vote, and any comment they left.

  4. Review concerns — The "Concerns" section lists team members who have voted that they are not yet ready, along with their comments explaining what needs to be resolved.

  5. Act on feedback — Use the comments in the Concerns section to update the brief or have a conversation in the chat panel. When a concern is resolved, the member can update their vote.

Key Capabilities

  • Team Overview: The circular progress indicator gives a quick visual summary of overall alignment without reading individual responses.
  • Aligned and Concerns sections: Votes are separated into two groups so you can immediately see where agreement stands and where there are blockers.
  • Timestamps: Every vote and comment shows the date and time it was submitted, down to the minute.
  • Real-time updates: The Activity tab subscribes to live updates. New votes appear immediately without refreshing the page.
  • Member identification: Each activity item shows the team member's name and a generated avatar initial so you know exactly who has responded.
  • Empty state: If no team members have voted yet, the tab shows a clear message explaining that alignment votes will appear here once participation begins.

What Counts as Activity

The Activity tab currently tracks:

  • Alignment votes: A team member indicating they are ready ("aligned") or that they have concerns
  • Comments on votes: Notes left alongside an alignment vote explaining the reasoning or flagging specific issues

Using Alignment to Move Forward

The Activity tab is most useful as a forcing function before moving a brief to the Aligned status or starting plan generation. You can share the brief with your team (see Sharing Briefs), ask them to review it, and then check the Activity tab to see whether there is consensus before proceeding.

If anyone has raised a concern, their comment tells you specifically what needs attention. This prevents misaligned work from reaching execution.

Tips

  • Share the brief with stakeholders before generating a plan and ask them to cast alignment votes. A brief with documented alignment is easier to hand off and less likely to result in rework.
  • Review the Activity tab during standups or planning sessions to see who still needs to weigh in.
  • If a team member's concern has been addressed by edits to the brief, ask them to update their vote so the team overview reflects the current state.
  • The circular indicator turns fully green only when every person who has voted is aligned. If some people have not voted yet, the indicator shows the proportion of those who have.
